French doors or patio doors?
French doors
A pair of doors that open outward or inward, so the full width can be opened on a good day. A classic look that suits most houses.
Sliding patio doors
One panel slides behind the other, so nothing swings into the room or onto the patio. A good choice where space is tight.
Security and glass
Doors onto the garden need the same security as a front door. Ours use multipoint locking, and the glass is toughened safety glass, as required for doors.
Replacing an old patio door
Older sliding doors can become stiff, draughty or hard to lock. We can replace the whole door, or replace misted glass units if the frame is still sound. See misty units.

Can you widen my opening for bigger doors?
Widening an opening is structural work for a builder. Once the opening is ready, we can make and fit the doors.
Do French doors open in or out?
Either. Outward-opening doors save space inside; inward-opening doors can suit a small patio or balcony.
