Kitchen glass splashbacks

A glass splashback is one seamless panel behind the hob or sink: no grout lines, easy to wipe and hard-wearing. Ours are 6mm toughened low-iron glass. Low-iron glass has almost none of the green tint of ordinary glass, so the colour painted on the back looks true.

  • Glass: 6mm toughened low-iron glass
  • Colours: Hundreds, matched to sample
  • Finishes: Plain, silver sparkle, rainbow sparkle, printed
  • Cut-outs: Sockets and switches cut before toughening

Choosing a colour

There are hundreds of colours to choose from, and we can match to a paint chart or a sample from your kitchen. For something different we can add a silver or rainbow sparkle, or print an image onto the glass. City skylines are a popular choice.

From measuring to fitting

  1. Template. We measure on site, once the worktops are in, and mark every socket and switch.
  2. Cut and toughen. The glass is cut and the cut-outs are made before toughening, because toughened glass can't be cut afterwards.
  3. Paint. Your colour is applied to the back.
  4. Fit. The panel is bonded to the wall and sockets are refitted.

Behind the hob

Toughened glass is designed to take the heat behind a hob. Your hob manufacturer's instructions set the minimum gap between the burners and the wall, so have them to hand when we measure.

Bathrooms too

The same glass works as a tile-free wall behind a basin or bath, or as a shower wall panel. See shower screens for enclosures.

Available across:

Can you cut holes for sockets?

Yes. All socket and switch cut-outs are made before the glass is toughened, which is why we measure on site.

Can I have a splashback behind a gas hob?

Toughened glass is designed for it, as long as the hob manufacturer's minimum clearance is kept. We'll check this when measuring.

When should you measure?

Once the worktops are fitted and fixed, since the splashback sits on them. Tell us your kitchen fitter's timetable and we'll plan around it.
