uPVC windows
We make and fit uPVC windows for houses, flats and bungalows across Dundee. Every window is measured for its own opening, built on VEKA profile and fitted by our own team. If you already have a fitter, we can supply only.
- Profile: VEKA, fully reinforced
- Energy rating: A-rated
- Sealed unit: Low-E glass, argon filled, warm-edge spacer
- Unit U-value: 1.2 W/m²K
- Options: Supply only, or supply and fit

What goes into our windows
The frames are VEKA uPVC with steel reinforcement, and the double glazed units use low-E glass, argon gas and a warm-edge spacer bar. That combination gives a unit U-value of 1.2 and an A energy rating. In practice it means less heat lost through the glass, less condensation on the inside pane and fewer draughts round the frame.
Window styles we fit
- Casement windows. The most common style in Dundee homes. Side-hung or top-hung, in any combination of opening and fixed panes.
- Tilt and turn. Tilts inward for ventilation and swings fully open for cleaning from inside. A good choice for upper-floor flats.
- Sash-style windows. For tenements and Victorian houses where the look of a traditional sash matters.
- Secondary glazing. Where the original windows need to stay, for example in a listed building.
Colours, handles and finishes
White is the standard, and we can supply woodgrain foils and colours such as anthracite grey. Handles, trickle vents and glass options (obscure glass for bathrooms, toughened glass where safety glass is required) are chosen at the quote stage. Samples are on display at the showroom on Alpin Road.
Planning and conservation areas
Parts of Dundee, including areas of the West End and Broughty Ferry, are conservation areas, and listed buildings have their own rules. If you're not sure whether a change of window style needs consent, check with Dundee City Council planning before ordering. We're happy to talk through what's usually acceptable.

How long does it take to fit new windows?
Most houses are done in one to two days, depending on how many windows are being replaced. Each opening is taken out and refitted on the same day, so the house is never left open overnight.
Can you supply windows without fitting them?
Yes. We offer supply only as well as supply and fit, so builders and joiners can order made-to-measure windows from us.
Do new windows need a building warrant in Scotland?
Replacing windows like for like doesn't usually need a building warrant, but listed buildings and conservation areas can need planning consent. Check with Dundee City Council, or with Angus, Perth & Kinross or Fife Council outside the city.
